Karachi: Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah today in a simple but impressive ceremony handed over challans of plots to members of Karachi Press Club, at Chief Minister House. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister Sindh said that Journalists, pressmen and mediamen publish and highlight the problems of society and present achievements and progress of Government to the masses. He said that mediamen and pressmen have always played a vital role for supporting democratic institutions and rule of law in Pakistan.
Chief Minister Sindh added that it is endeavour of government to solve genuine problems of Journalists as they belong to working class of our society. He said that after fulfilment of all requirements, challans are being given to Journalists, and the old demand is being fulfilled today. Regarding, development works in Journalists colony at Hawks Bay, the Chief Minister Sindh said that funds have been release to Lyari Development Authority so that work is completed early and members of Karachi Press club could start construction of their houses.
He said that tomorrow, peoples party is observing 4th death anniversary of its great leader Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and a big public meeting is awaited at Garhi Khuda Bux. He said that the objective of public meeting is to pay homage to great leader. Chief Minister Sindh added that Journalists are and have to perform their duties and share their responsibilities, as they have to highlight viewpoint of every group and party.
Syed Qaim Ali Shah further said that we have to help, assist and provide facilities to everyone including the Journalists. Syed Qaim Ali Shah also thanked the Governing body of KPC for awarding Life Membership of KPC to him President KPC Mr. Tahir Hasan Khan and Secretary Moosa Kaleem expressed thanks for full cooperation to members of Karachi Press Club.
They said that the last PPP government had announced to give plots to Journalists and present PPP government had fulfilled the commitment and Chief Minister Sindh is giving away Challans of allotment orders.
They also thanked the President Asif Ali Zardari, who had taken keen interest in finalization of allotment of plots to members of Karachi Press Club. The office bearers of KPC also thanked on behalf of Governing Body, and in recognition of valuable services being done for the country, awarded Life Membership to Syed Qaim Ali Shah.
The ceremony was attended among others by Sindh Agriculture Minister Syed Ali Nawaz Shah, Secretary Information Sindh Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah, Secretary to C.M Sindh Allamuddin Bullo, Secretary Local Government Ali Ahmed Lund, Director General Lyari Development Authority Agha Masood, Press Secretary to C.M Sindh Allah Bachayo Memon and others.
