Peshawar: The Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Amir Haider Khan Hoti has clarified that Pakistan could not put at stake its sovereignty and national interests for friendship relation with any country. We wanted relations with everyone on the basis of equality. To steer out the region from the challenges and crisis confronting it, the countries of the region should work together.
The bilateral relations between Pakistan and Iran based on historical, cultural, trade and religious harmony were inevitable for peace and stability in the region and in the present day situation its importance has been increased manifold.
The visit of Sheraz and Asfahan of Amir Haider Khan Hoti on the invitation of Irani brethren was reflective of his inner desire. As a result of devastating floods last year, he had to postpone his visit of Iran.
These views he expressed during formal meeting with Governor General Dr. Zakir Asfahani at Governor House Asfahan last night. On this occasion beside Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Senior Minister, Bashir Ahmad Bilour, Provincial Minister for Information and Public Relations, Mian Iftikhar Hussain, high ranking officials and Hassan Darvesh Vend, Irani Council General at Peshawar were also present.
The Governor Asfahan while welcoming the Chief Minister and members of his entourage, expressed the hope that as a result of this visit people of both the provinces will be benefited adding that they will come more nearer to each other.
He also highlighted in detail the geo-historical background of Asfahan City and struggle of Iranians during various ups and downs. He said that there are considerable potentials in the sectors of Tourism, Culture, Archaeology, Natural and Human Resources, Chemicals, Petro-chemicals production, Oil, Carpet-making, Livestock and Agricultural based industries of Asfahan which, he added, was playing basic role in the development and prosperity of Asfahan.
He said that the building material industry has a prominent place in the provincial economy. He added it was their desire that further steps on long-term basis in these sectors for furthering the ties, be taken by Pak-Iran, the results of which will directly reach to the people.
Amir Haider Khan Hoti while reciprocating the same sentiments thanked the Governor General and assured that his current visit will prove a launching pad and bilateral visits of delegations of the either country to give practical shape to the bilateral relations in a phased manner.
The Chief Minister spell out in detail the resources and potentials available in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa which can appropriately be explored through Iranian investment. He paid rich tributes to the Irani leadership and people for their commitment for rapid development.
Amir Haider Khan Hoti also told to the Governor about his city and added he was very much impressed from the development of Asfahan city. He also expressed good wishes for Iranian brethrens.
