Lahore, January 18, 2017 (PPI-OT):Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has approved the establishment of the facilitation centres for overseas Pakistanis in four divisional headquarters of the province where desks of police and other departments will be set up to resolve the problems of overseas Pakistanis without any delay. The facilitation centres will be set up in Dera Ghazi Khan, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala and Lahore divisions. Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif ordered immediate measures to establish the centres.
He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting here to review performance of the Overseas Pakistanis Commission Punjab. Addressing the meeting, Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan nationals who have settled abroad are the ambassadors of the country and the resolution of their problems is the responsibility of the government.
He said the Punjab government has established an independent commission to resolve problems of the overseas Pakistanis at the priority basis. He said the commission is taking all-out measures to resolve problems of overseas Pakistanis and the performance of the commission is satisfactory. He said one-window facility will be available at the facilitation centres being set up at the four divisions. He said all pending cases of overseas Pakistanis should be resolved at the earliest and for this purpose all departments should coordinate closely.
He said immediate steps should be taken to resolve problems of overseas Pakistanis at some of the housing societies. Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif expressed his displeasures over absence of some of concerning officers of various departments in meetings of the district committees of the Overseas Pakistanis Commission and said all concerning officers should attend these meetings and no complaint about their absence should receive him in the future.
He said a mechanism should be evolved for the implementation of the decision of the district committees of the Overseas Pakistanis Commission. Commissioner Overseas Pakistanis Commission Afzaal Bhatti briefed the meeting about the performance of the commission. Provincial Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmed, the chief secretary, the inspector general of police, vice chairman Overseas Pakistanis Commission Punjab Caption (r) Khalid Shaheen Butt, the commissioner Lahore, CCPO Lahore and other concerning officers also attended the meeting.
