Peshawar: The Chief Justice of Peshawar High Court today awarded one advance increment to all the judicial officers of district judiciary both in-cadre and ex-cadre and also to the staff of the district judiciary including Anti Terrorism Courts. This increment was given in recognition of their services and performance in the disposal of cases, particularly the old ones.
This performance was appreciated and acknowledged by the National Judicial (Policy Making) Committee in its meeting held on 30th and 31st March, 2012 at Peshawar. The committee comprises of all the Chief Justices of Pakistan with the Chief Justice of Pakistan as Chairman.
At the time when the National Judicial Policy was pressed into service the province had 1, 13,000 cases of old category i.e. cases filed prior to January 1st, 2009. The district judiciary has disposed of 99% of these cases and overall the pendency has been reduced by 1/3rd of the total.
The Chief Justice of this court soon after assumption of the present slot had given a message to all the stakeholders of the justice sector to reward all those who would contribute towards the achievement of the lofty object of dispensation of inexpensive and expeditious justice. It was further committed that this incentive shall be announced at the end of judicial year.
As a part of that commitment the Chief Justice has announced the incentive as the judicial year is likely to end very soon. While announcing this incentive the Chief Justice has given a message to all those rewarded for continuous efforts in the future with the same zeal, dedication and commitment so that the public at large be benefited from the service delivery of the judiciary being an important pillar of the state fabric. The Chief Justice has again shown his commitment to give incentives in future but subject to performance.
