Islamabad, July 16, 2013 (PPI-OT): Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), Nadeem Hassan Asif on Sunday inspected the Sectors I-8, I-9, I-10 and I-11 of the Federal Capital and directed the concerned formations of the authority for stern action against the encroachments and resolution of civic issues on top priority basis.
Member Planning and Design, Syed Mustafain Kazmi, Member Engineering, Sanaullah Aman, Member Administration, Munir Ahmad Chaudhry and other senior officers were accompanying the Chairman CDA during the visit.
During his visit to Sector I-8, I-9, I-10 and I-11, Chairman CDA, Nadeem Hassan Asif expressed his concern over the mushroom growth of encroachments in and around these sectors and directed the concerned formations of the authority for removal of these encroachments.
The encroachments including immovable road-side food vendors, chapper hotels, stocking of building material sand and bricks, illegal wagon and bus stands, kiosks and wild shrubs at green belts that portray ugly pictures as well as security concerns should be removed with immediate effect, said Chairman CDA.
He also took notice of the rank vegetation and shrubs, illegal fences around the houses and directed Member Environment for issuance of notice to the owners of these houses, adding that despite the notice if the residents fail to remove these fences, then take direct action for removal of the fences.
Chairman CDA also expressed his concern over the commercial activities in the residential areas of the federal capital and directed Member Planning and Design for initiate appropriate action against non-confirming use. He also took notice of the illegal parking by the owner of hotel in sector I-9 on CDA’s land and ordered for removal of illegal parking and retrieve the land. He also directed the concerned officers of the authority to demolish the wall constructed by the traders along the park illegally.
Chairman CDA order Member Administration to probe into the matter of issuance of licenses by the officers of the authority for establishment of illegal wagon and bus stands along the I. J Principal Road.
Chairman CDA directed the concerned officers of the authority for open auction of fair price shops in a transparent manner in Sector I-19 so that furniture market in the area could be planned.
Chairman CDA, Nadeem Hassan Asif directed Member Estate to launch an operation in her own supervision against the encroachments on green belt between Sector I-10 and I-11 and restore its green character.
Chairman CDA directed the concerned formation of the authority for a proper sanitation mechanism in I-Series Sectors and expressed the displeasure over the dumped litter over-loaded litter trolleys on the road sides in different areas. He directed the concerned formation of the authority to ensure proper disposal of litter on regular basis. Chairman CDA directed the concerned formation of the authority to bring further improvement in planning of auto repair shops in Sector I-9 so that open land in the market area could be saved from encroachments.
Chairman CDA, Nadeem Hassan Asif directed Director Enforcement to take action for removal of encroachment in I-Series Sector and keep a vigilant and effective monitoring system so that these encroachments could not crop up again.
