Karachi: Activities in Competitive Bridge were in full swing this week, when three events were held at Karachi.
Though bridge players enjoyed a week-long bridge bonanza of the Keyseria National Bridge Championship at Lahore which was a live broadcast through the courtesy BBO, France. The Keyseria National Bridge Championship was won by Precision Marathon.
First it was a Individual Movement, exclusive for the members of Karachi Club. Ramzan Hooda left behind other and some more experienced competitive bridge players far behind to win the Karachi Club Individual Pair Championship with a handsome score of 63.69 percent almost 5 percent above to his nearest rival Farhan Qasim 58.75 and Asif Goodil 57.74 percent.
At the first programme of week-end Bridge at Karachi Bridge Association, a unique incident happened when three pairs shared the first berth. Eighteen pairs competed the Scramble Mitchel Movement on Friday. Dr. Sarfraz – Nasim Arzoo led the bunch almost six rounds, however, two pairs of Hamed Mohiuddin-Ziaullah Baig, Tehsin Gheewala and partner dashed in to join them at the first position.
Century Insurance having Abdul Khaliq, Asghar Abbas, Anwer Kizilbash, Ghulam Muhammed and Ghufran Ashraf won all the four matches in a row and won the weekly title with a score of 81 Victory Points. GQ and Foxy both scored 65 for the second and third berth, since in their direct clash GFQ had defeated foxy 13-17.
