Islamabad, January 28, 2016 (PPI-OT): Capital Development Authority (CDA) conducted a gigantic and joint operation against the encroachments along the I.J Principal Road here on Thursday and demolished numerous illegal structures, dwellings and fixed other such violations which were causing inconvenience to the general public. The operation was participated by the Enforcement Directorate, Municipal Administration Directorate, Machinery Pool Organization, planning and staff of Land Wing while magisterial and police cover was also provided by the Islamabad Capital Administration and Islamabad Police.
Acting upon the directions of Chairman CDA Maroof Afzal, teams of enforcement directorate, lead by the Director Enforcement, carried out a massive anti-encroachment operation along the busiest artery of the twin cities i.e. I.J Principal Road from Pindora Chungi to PSO pump. During the operation, Enforcement staff of the Authority demolished seven (07) rooms and huge fencing behind plot No 6 situated along the Road.
Teams of Enforcement Directorate also dismantled a canopy, constructed on the proposed service Road, which was being used as living rooms of Sana CNG station. Furthermore, several factories of construction material including cemented pipes, tuff tiles, jalies pillars and roof slabs comprising on several rooms were razed while illegal constructions made by Tea stall at Pindora Chungi were also demolished and several kanals of CDA land was got vacated from the encroachers. During the operation some retaliation was shown by some of the encroachers however no any toward situation occurred.
It is pertinent to mention here that these encroachments were not only causing inconvenience to the general public but were also a continuous nuisance which was being faced by the commuters enrouted through this road. In order to address, the issue Chairman CDA Maroof Afzal directed the Enforcement Wing to carryout comprehensive and joint operation for complete eradication of encroachments established illegally along IJ Principal Road.
Chairman CDA has reiterated that CDA’s drive against the encroachments and illegal constructions will remain continue with full zeal and enthusiasm as these affecting the natural beauty of the city. He said that encroachments would not be tolerated and further directed the concerned formations to accelerate the drive and enhance its canvas across the city so that encroachments from the entire city could be eliminated.
