Capital Development Authority’s clarification regarding illegal encroachment in green areas north of Sector D-12, Islamabad

Islamabad, August 31, 2013 (PPI-OT): CDA has contradict a fallacious and misleading news item appearing in a section of the press about the illegal encroachment in the green areas north of Sector D-12. CDA has in fact banned any kind of construction activity in the green area since July 2013 after receiving reports of construction activity. FIRs were registered against the culprits in the wake of action taken on 21.08.2013.

It is reiterated that CDA’s Directorate of Enforcement, is vigorously campaigning to curtail illegal occupation in above said areas as a consequence of which illegal construction was got demolished. A case has also been registered against violators in Police Station Golra, Islamabad.

The Capital Development Authority would like to draw attention to Islamabad Capital Territory Zoning Regulations wherein for the areas falling in ‘Zone-3’ ‘no change in land use’ except for projects related to conservation, preservation, afforestation are allowed.

No ‘sale purchase’ of land is to take place which entails change in land use. In view of the foregoing there is a ban on construction activity in the area where boundaries of Shah Allah Ditta, Pind Sangrial and Siri Siral meet as well as other green areas. Members of the general public are warned not to invest in such schemes that are planned in the preserved forest area in their own interest.
