Islamabad, November 12, 2012 (PPI-OT): Sheikh Humayun Sayeed Chairman, FPCCI Standing Committee on Diplomatic Affairs and former Vice President FPCCI, expresses deep sorrow at the death of former Law Minister and Attorney General Iqbal Haider.
Iqbal Haider was a leading figure in the Movement for Restoration of Democracy (MRD) and the man of commitment and principle. He had played a dynamic role in Human Rights Commission and his contribution in this regard is laudable. Throughout his life, Iqbal Haider remained purposefully engaged and led a remarkably productive life.
He was always loyal and generous to his work. He was a key figure of the Democracy in Pakistan, which led the various movements for the restoration of democracy in the country. Besides his work as a politician; he will be remembered for his contributions to human rights and to the promotion of democracy. He encouraged people to raise voices against the human rights violations. He got fame as revolutionary politician, advocate, writer and a human right activist.
Sheikh Humayun Sayeed and the Business Community of Pakistan also prayed to Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage and fortitude to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
