Srinagar, April 29, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, senior All Parties Hurriyet Conference leader and Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party, Shabbir Ahmad Shah has said that arrests and harassment of the Hurriyet leaders by Indian police and paramilitary forces cannot dissuade the Kashmiris from waging struggle for their inalienable right to self-determination.
Shabbir Ahmad Shah in a statement in Srinagar expressed concern over the plight of hundreds of young boys detained in different jails of the occupied territory under draconian Public Safety Act.
He also denounced the arrest of Hurriyet leader Mushtaq-ul-Islam under the PSA for the ninth time.
He said that fake charges had also been framed against Hurriyet leaders including Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Masarrat Aalam Butt, Rafiq Ahmad Ganai and Mir Hafeezullah.
The senior APHC leader said that India had converted Jammu and Kashmir into a police state wherein police could detain anyone under the black law.
