Islamabad, October 26, 2012 (PPI-OT): On the occasion of Eid ul Adha, the British Prime Minister, David Cameron said: “Eid al-Adha is a time for families and friends. A time of joy and happiness.
“This Eid celebration comes during a momentous period of change for both Muslims and non- Muslims around the world. This year the Libyan people voted for the first time in 47 years. We have seen new Presidents elected in both Egypt and Somalia. Looking ahead, Pakistan is preparing for important elections in 2013. Vital steps forward are being taken across the region.
“At a time of celebration and hope for Muslims around the world, the conflict in Syria continues. It is a conflict that affects Syrian Muslims and non-Muslims alike. The only way out of Syria’s nightmare is to move forward towards political transition and not to give up the cause of freedom. As Eid begins Muslims will be enjoying this very special time, but all our thoughts will of course turn to those who continue to suffer in this and other conflicts around the world.
“So to Muslims around the world on this very important day of celebration, I wish you all a very happy and peaceful Eid.”
