Srinagar, October 26, 2014 (PPI-OT): British Kashmiris will observe 27th October as a Black Day in London. A peaceful protest demonstration will be held outside the Indian High Commission.
It was on 27th October in 1947 when Indian troops invaded Jammu and Kashmir and occupied it in total violation of the Partition Plan and against the aspirations of the Kashmiris.
Meanwhile, Professor Nazir Ahmed Shawl, Chairman, International Chamber for Peace and Conciliation, in a statement issued in London urged India to shun its intransigence and resolve the lingering Kashmir dispute in accordance with the aspirations of its people.
He said that the voice of the Kashmiri people needed to be heard and their inalienable right to self-determination should be given to them as promised by India.
Professor Nazir Ahmad Shawl said that the international community should to come forward and help settle the dispute over Kashmir which, he added, was imperative for peace in the region.
