Islamabad, October 26, 2014 (PPI-OT): Chairman Senate Syed Nayyer Hussain Bokhari has termed his visit fruitful in which core issues of human rights, democracy, constitution and women empowerment remained high on the agenda. He expressed these views after a meeting with Princess Victoria, crown princess of Sweden Duchess of Vastergotland.
In his meeting with Princess Victoria Chairman Senate said that both countries have enjoyed productive long term relations over the periods of time and Pakistan looks forward to enhancing this relationship. Nayyer Bokhari said that the relationship between the two countries is experiencing more frequent parliamentary interactions and this is adding substance to mutual efforts.
Both sides laid emphasis on expanding bilateral cooperation in other fields. Princess Victoria and Chairman Bokhari agreed on enhancing trade relations as this area has a great potential of growth which will result in economic progress for both Pakistan and Sweden. Nayyer Bokhari apprised the Princess about the efforts Pakistan is taking in ensuring equal rights for its citizens and protection of basic Human Rights for all sections of Society.
Chairman Senate concluded with this meeting, his 3 day visit of Sweden in which he previously met Speaker of Swedish Parliament, Committee of Constitution and Foreign Affairs, Foreign Minister and Secretary General of International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance. He is accompanied by Senator Nuzhat Sadiq, Senator Farhat Abbas and Senator Najmul Hassan.
