Karachi, April 05, 2013 (PPI-OT): Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat Ul Ebad Khan said that poverty and illiteracy could only be removed people’s lives through making improvements in bilateral trade and economic relations with the neighbouring countries. Thus the living standard of the people of either country could be lifted and supported to sustain.
It was a pleasant development in the region that the businessmen and industrialists of India and Pakistan were well aware of the need of the hour and thus were playing their roles for the promotion of bilateral trade. The results of the South Asia Strategic Leadership Conference would emerge in form of establishment of bilateral relations between the two countries.
The Governor expressed these views while talking to a delegation of businessmen from India and Pakistan Thursday.
The Governor said that although the country was passing through difficult time as regards to econo9my but the Pakistani businessmen had enough potential to pull the country out of the ongoing economic hardship.
He said that the situation in Karachi was portrayed quite negatively across the world but those foreigners that had visited the city had learnt that the actual picture was totally different. Currently, Pakistan was going to hold general elections and caretaker governments had already been formed, which majority in cabinets was from corporate sector.
He said that the mutual contacts among the traders and businessmen of the two country was an important factor to the way of promoting peace and friendly ties between the two countries. It was imperative that the bilateral trade and economic relations be promoted in order to resolve issues that led to confrontation.
The Governor suggested that exchange of information could be made simple through video conferencing between the two countries.
