Karachi, August 17, 2015 (PPI-OT): KMC Administrator Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui said land mafia had set its sights on the beautiful Aziz Bhatti Park’s lake where construction waste and garbage was dumped to pave the way for plotting, however this plan has now been thwarted with the cooperation of Pakistan Customs and the reconstruction of Aziz Bhatti Park has also been initiated with this.
Very soon this park will be among the lush green beautiful parks of the city. The Park’s PC-1 was already approved whereas recycled water will be used for greenery in the park. He expressed these views while talking to media representatives after inaugurating the recycling plant wetland (biological waste water treatment unit) installed in the Aziz Bhatti Park by the Custom House Karachi.
The Collector Customs S. M Tariq Huda, Director General Parks Niaz Ahmed Soomro and others were also present on this occasion. Before this the Commissioner/Administrator Karachi unveiled the plaque of recycling wetland plant alongwith the collector customs. Administrator Shoaib Siddiqui said the government spent not a penny on this plant as this plant has been installed with the donation from Customs Karachi.
He said the efforts for installation of this plant were begin a few months ago in which the Governor Sindh Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan had a key role and the provincial government also had special interest in it. Speaking on this occasion, the collector customs Karachi S.M Tariq Huda said the installation of recycling wetland plant would help keep the Aziz Bhatti Park lush green all the time and this water will be used for the central lake of the park. The recycle plant would have the capacity of recycling one lac gallon water daily. He also thanked the Governor of Sindh for his special interest in the project.
