Authorities subjecting youth to political vengeance: JKML

Srinagar, March 03, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League (JKML) has denounced the authorities for slapping black law, Public Safety Act, on Zubair Ahmad of Shopian and re-arrest of Fayaz Ahmad Talaq immediately after his release. The JKML spokesman, Muhammad Rafiq Ganai, in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the detainees were being subjected to political vengeance after being implicated in fake cases.

The authorities, he said, at the behest of Indian government are making efforts in vain to break the Kashmiris’ resolve for freedom. He deplored that the Kashmiri detainees were not provided with basic facilities including medical care.

He demanded of international human rights organizations including the Amnesty International and Asia Watch to intervene in the matter and impress upon India to immediately release all illegally detained Hurriyet leaders and activists.
