Asia-Pacific Environmental Justice Conference begins in Lahore

Two-day Asia-Pacific Environmental Justice Conference opened in Lahore this morning.

Speaking at inaugural session, Chief Justice Lahore High Court (LHC) Justice Muhammad Yawar Ali says environmental pollution is the most critical issue of the region and asked the governments and concerned agencies to take necessary remedial measures to effectively deal with the challenge.

He says like other countries, Pakistan has also made effective legislation to preserve, protect and improve the environment in the wake of scientific and technological advancements, increasing population and accelerating urbanization.
