Around 2 lakh cases pending with courts in IOK

Srinagar, June 23, 2016 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, the puppet administration has admitted that around two hundred thousand cases are pending with High Court and subordinate courts of the territory. This was revealed by the puppet minister for Revenue, Syed Basharat Bukhari, while replying on behalf of minister for Law and Justice to a query raised in the so-called Kashmir Assembly. The minister was asked about the total number of cases pending in various courts including High Court. The number has taken many legal experts with surprise in view of the overall population of the occupied territory.

It is worth mentioning here that the High Court Bar Association in its several reports released after Bar teams’ visits to different jails have pointed out deliberate delay in production of detainees before courts by the authorities, especially in the cases registered against Hurriyet leaders and activists. This is done to prolong their detention.
