Islamabad, January 05, 2013 (PPI-OT): The speakers at a seminar here said that 5th January resolution of the United Nations provides legal basis to the struggle of Kashmiri people as in this resolution Kashmiris’ right to self-determination has been accepted.
The All Parties Hurriyet Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter organised the seminar in connection with the Right to Self-Determination Day, today. The Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Chaudhry Abdul Majeed, was chief guest while the APHC-AJK Convenor, Mehmood Ahmad Saghar, chaired the seminar.
Addressing on the occasion, the AJK Prime Minister, Chaudhry Abdul Majeed, said that the people of Kashmir had been rendering unparalleled sacrifices for the Kashmir cause and India, despite utilising all its resources could not suppress their liberation movement. He asked New Delhi to realise the ground reality and take steps for peaceful resolution of the lingering Kashmir dispute.
The President of All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference and former AJK Prime Minister, Sardar Atique Ahmad Khan, in his address urged the United Nations to implement its resolutions on Kashmir.
The President of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Party, Sardar Khalid Ibrahim, in his speech appealed to the UN and other international humanitarian organisations to take cognisance of the gross human rights violations by Indian troops in occupied Kashmir and use their influence to stop Indian state terrorism in the occupied territory. He said that settlement of the Kashmir dispute was imperative for permanent peace in South Asia.
The seminar was attended among others by the APHC-AJK leaders, Syed Yousuf Naseem, Mir Tahir Masood, Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, Manzoor-ul-Haq Butt, Sheikh Muhammad Yaqoob, Altaf Hussain Wani, Abdul Majeed Malik, Abdul Hameed Lone, Muzaffar Hussain Shah, Khadim Hussain, Daud Khan Yousufzai and AJK ministers, Matloob Inqilabi and Mian Waheed. At the end special prayers were held for the Kashmiri martyrs.
