Islamabad, October 09, 2014 (PPI-OT): ANF in 11 operations recovered 8577.6 Kgs of Charas, 5.28 Kgs of Heroin, 400 Grams Amphetamine and arrested 15 persons including 2 ladies involved in drug smuggling. During the operations 2 vehicles were also seized. The value of seized drugs amounts approximately Rs 8 Arab 58 Crores in International Market.
According to details, ANF Baluchistan seized 3940 Kgs of Charas Garda from Killi Zard Ghulam Jan, Tehsil Mangochar, District Kallat. Reportedly the narcotics were likely to destined for Karachi for local consumption. Yet in another operation, ANF Baluchistan recovered 4574 Kgs of Charas Garda from Killi Dolangee, Tehsil Gulistan, District Qilla Abdullah.
The narcotics were likely to be taken to costal area and later smuggled abroad via sea. ANF Lahore captured a vehicle and recovered 50.4 Kgs of Charas from the vehicle. Charas was concealed in secret cavities of the vehicle. Two accused named Rooh-ul-Amin and his lady associate Marro Mana present inside the vehicle were taken into custody.
As per reports, both accused are residents of Peshawar and working as professional drug carriers. They are said to be involved in transportation of drugs to Lahore City. Efforts are in hand to arrest the reported drug recipients.
ANF Lahore on pursuance of information raided at Abdullah Travels Bus Stand, Band Road, arrested a drug carrier Humayun r/o Peshawar and two recipients including a lady namely Fouzia Bibi and her male accomplice Sheheryar, both residents of Lahore. They were caught red handed while handing / taking of drugs.
The operation resulted in recovery of 4.1 Kgs of Heroin from their personal possession. According to reports, drug carrier came from Peshawar for delivery of drugs. The recipients local suppliers of narcotics.
ANF Lahore on tip-off, conducted an operation near Niazi Bus Stand, Bund Road, Lahore and arrested 2 drug smugglers Pervez Khan r/o Peshawar and Jawad Afsar r/o Chakwal along with 1 Kgs of Charas. According to information, both accused came from Peshawar for supply of drugs.
ANF Lahore acting upon information seized a parcel from a courier company office near Gulberg-II, Lahore and recovered 180 Grams of heroin concealed in ladies hand bag. The parcel was destined to Canada. ANF Rawalpindi Airport Team at Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Islamabad detained a passenger Muhammad Asad s/o Muhammad Riaz Zahid r/o Gujranwala.
Later the accused admitted of having ingested heroin filled capsules. Accused was trying to board for Spain via Dubai by Emirates Airline flight No.EK-615. ANF Peshawar in an operation at Bus Stop, University Town, Jamrud Road, Peshawar, apprehended 3 individuals Socha Gul r/o Khyber Agency, Naseem Jan r/o Peshawar and Niaz Gul r/o Peshawar and recovered 10 Kgs of Charas from their personal possession.
They were coming from Jamrud and were smuggling drugs to Peshawar for onward delivery to Punjab. ANF Peshawar on a search of suspected Toyota Hiace near main motorway Toll Plaza, Peshawar, apprehended 2 drug carriers namely Saeed Rehman and Rambil Khan, both residents of Khyber Agency and recovered 2.2 Kgs of Charas from their personal possession.
A vehicle was also confiscated in the case. According to initial reports, both accused are paid drug carriers. They were coming from Peshawar and on their way to Rawalpindi for delivery of drugs. ANF Peshawar arrested Iftikhar Khan s/o Tamash Khan r/o Khyber Agency and recovered 1 Kg of Heroin from his personal possession.
He was arrested near Kacha Garhi, Jamrud Road, Peshawar. As per information, the accused was coming from Jamrud and is reported as a local drug supplier. ANF Peshawar detained a passenger Muhammad Kamran r/o District Mardan at Peshawar Airport and recovered 400 Grams of Amphetamine from his possession.
It was tactfully concealed in a ready-made suit, kept in his trolley bag. The accused intended to take off for Abu Dhabi by Shaheen Airline Flight No. NL-756. All cases have been registered at ANF Police Stations and further investigations are under progress.
