Anti Narcotics Task Force seizes 4.12 tons of narcotics worth Rs 5742 million arrest 12 drug traffickers including a foreign national, seizes 5 vehicles in 9 other operations

Islamabad, April 09, 2015 (PPI-OT): ANF in its drive against Drug Mafia, conducted 10 operations across the country, which resulted in recovery of 4.025 Ton Opium, 17.6 Kg Heroin and 81.6 Kg Charas. ANF also arrested 12 drug traffickers including a Nigerian National and seized 5 vehicles during the operations. The total value of recovered drugs approximately amounts to Rs. 5742 Million in International Market. Most of the recovered drugs were destined abroad.

ANF Quetta carried out a successful intelligence led operation and seized 4025 Kg Opium from general area of Killi Sardar Kamal Khan, Tehsil Bashore, District Pishin. According to details, drug was stuffed in 131 plastic bags each containing 30-31 Kg Opium. It was concealed at a hidden site situated in the cutting of complex mountains, far away from the population area.

As per preliminary reports, the drug consignment was placed at a cache site for handing over to some other narcotics gang. On receipt of safe signals, it was expected to be transported to Gawadar for final despatch to some foreign location across the sea.

ANF Rawalpindi Airport Team conducted an information based operation at Parking Area of Benazir Bhutto International, Airport, Islamabad and recovered 6 Kg Heroin from personal possession of Muhammad Shakeel, resident of Chakwal. According to details, the arrested accused intended to take off for Milan (Italy) via Doha by Qatar airline Flight No.QR-631.

ANF Rawalpindi Road Check Team intercepted a Suzuki Bolan Car near Chak Chakora Chakwal, Road Jehlum and recovered 1.2 Kg Charas from the car. Two persons on board namely Syed Zaheer Abbas and Wishal Ahmed, both residents of Chakwal were also arrested during the operations. As per reports, both the accused are involved in supply of drugs at local level.

ANF Rawalpindi arrested a Nigerian national namely Ekene Okoso on suspicion of having gulped Heroin filled capsules. During interrogation, he confessed of having ingested Heroin filled capsules. He was arrested during a raid conducted at Usman Hotel situated in F-10 Markaz, Islamabad. As per reports, the accused planned to depart for Cairo via Doha by Qatar Airline Flight No.QR-617 from Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Islamabad.

ANF Lahore Road Check Team during routine checking near Abdul Malik Interchange, Lahore, intercepted a Suzuki Cultus Car and recovered 10 Kg Heroin concealed in the secret cavities of the said car. Two drug carriers namely Wajid Khan and Janas Khan, both residents of Peshawar were also arrested during the operation. After initial investigations, a drug recipient namely Ghulam Nabi, resident of Faisalabad also arrested from Sumandari, Faisalabad.

ANF Lahore Road Check Team during routine surveillance at Road Check set up at Sakhi Sarwar Road, Dera Ghazi Khan, seized a car and recovered 22 Kg Charas concealed in it. A drug carrier namely Munir Hussain, resident of Layyah was also taken into custody. As per preliminary information, he was to deliver the drugs to some local suppliers at Multan.

ANF Peshawar during routine road check, seized a Toyota Hiace No. E-5663 near Kohat Bus Stand, Peshawar City. During search of the vehicle, 44.4 Kg Charas was recovered, which was concealed in improvised cavities. Charas was contained in 37 packets, each containing 1.2 Kg Charas. A person on board namely Menat Khan, resident of Kurram Agency was also arrested at the spot.

ANF Peshawar Road Check Team in an operation conducted near main Motorway Toll Plaza, Peshawar, searched a passenger Hiace No. LRS-4644 and arrested an accused Said Rasool, resident of Khybar Agency along with 1 Kg of Heroin, recovered from his personal possession. According to initial reports he was travelling to Rawalpindi for delivery of Heroin to some local narcotics peddler.

ANF Karachi on pursuance of source information, raided at Ayub Hotel Bus stop near Hala Check Post, Hyderabad. During operation, a local drug supplier Mureed Majeedano resident of Hyderabad was arrested along with recovery of 14 Kg Charas, which was found in his personal possession. The accused was proceeding for delivery of drugs to some local peddlers in nearby area.

ANF Karachi Airport Team during routine surveillance at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi, detained a passenger namely Najam-ul-Hassan, resident of Sialkot and recovered 600 Gram Heroin concealed in his shoes. The accused intended to take off for Colombo via Bangkok by Air Lanka Flight No.UL-184. Cases have been registered against all the detainees at respective ANF Police Stations and further investigations are under process.
