Islamabad, March 19, 2014 (PPI-OT): ANF Analysis Wing reported increased trend of smuggling narcotics abroad through courier companies. Taking notice of the Analysis Report, DG ANF Major General Malik Zafar Iqbal, deputed ANF Intelligence Wing to address the novel trend. Although, ANF Enforcement Outfits have been meeting repeated success in intercepting parcels, however present achievement is regarded as a landmark in uplifting the under – roots of innovative trend.
According to details, ANF Intelligence Wing discretely started investigations of courier cases, monitoring parcel bookings, attaining ingress in parcel transportation and accordingly developing Profiled Data. The events highlighted certain individuals, whose discrete surveillance was carried out.
Resultantly an operation was organized to intercept the drugs by deploying ANF Road Check near Civil Hospital Ahmed Shaheed Chowk, Chand Bibi Road, Karachi. The operation resulted in arrest of Rajab Ali s/o Abdul Rahman r/o Karachi with 20 Kgs of fine quality of Heroin, while travelling on his motor bike registration No. KGJ – 9698.
As per initial investigations, he was carrying the drugs to hand over concealment specialist for preparation of parcels, which were later intended for booking abroad through courier companies. The individual remained a former employee of Courier Company and indulged in drug business for the last 6 years.
A case under section control of narcotics substance a ct 1997 has been registered by ANF Police Station Karachi and further investigations are in progress.
