Islamabad, May 04, 2015 (PPI-OT): ANF sponsored “Jeeway Pakistan Cycle Rally” starting from Muzafargarh on 22nd April, reached at HQ Anti Narcotics Force, Rawalpindi on 4th May. DG ANF Major General Khawar Hanif welcomed the participants and appreciated the high spirit of volunteers in sharing noble cause in creating awareness against Drugs.
The rally was headed by Mr. Latif Sial and comprised 10 cyclists in all, mostly of national fame. These cyclists covered 810 Kms, adopting different legs en-route, that is, Multan, Khanewal, Mian Channu, Chichawatni, Sahiwal, Okara, Patoki, Lahore, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Kharian, Jehlum, Sohawa, Gujjar Khan and Rawalpindi. The rally intends going to Murree as well.
The purpose of the rally is to create awareness amongst masses particularly young generation, adopting the motto “DRUG FREE SOCIETY”. Pursuing the anti-drug message, cyclists also distributed pamphlets, handouts and stickers at schools, colleges, bus stands and other public places. During the journey they also delivered speeches and generated motivational discussions / talks for healthy living. The message against drugs was also imprinted on flags, banners and their T-shirts of the rally.
ANF has been a traditional supporter of this healthy activity, and had been supporting it for the last many years. The rally is an expedition by itself, which is open for all volunteers to join even any one leg of the journey or by welcoming / meeting the rally member’s en-route at their location of convenience.
