Anti Narcotics Force launches Clean-Up Operation against Drug Traffickers in Peshawar, Quetta

Karachi, July 10, 2013 (PPI-OT): In continuation to the policy of Nationwide crackdown and zero tolerance on notorious Narcotics dens/ sites/ smugglers, ordered by Director General Anti Narcotics Force, Regional Headquarter Peshawar carried out a massive and successful operation at narcotics locality, Karkhano Market Area, Peshawar. Arrested 2 famous Drug Suppliers, recovered street-supply drugs, apprehended 18 drug addicts and completely wiped out crime locality.

According to details, on 9th July 2013, Anti Narcotics Force undertook a secret crackdown operation at Karkhano Market Area, Peshawar. A total of 35 ANF personals participated in the operation. It was well planned operation, blocking all the entry/ exit points of the crime locality. During operation, a total of 20 crime related persons were hauled-up. After initial interrogation, 2 famous Drug Suppliers surfaced who were arrested and will be dealt by law.

These arrests may lead to further information. Search of personals/ locality resulted in recovery of 500 Heroin “Purries”. All stake holders have been informed to keep a watch, to deny re-occurrence of the crime. In another operation, ANF raided at link Saryab Road, Quetta recovered 3 Kg Charas and 2683 bottles/ canes of liquor and whisky.

2 drug suppliers and 41 drug addicts were arrested during the operation. The addicts were released after necessary investigation. FIRs have been registered against the accused persons and further investigation is in progress.

It is pertinent to mention here, Director General ANF has instructed to curb this drug menace forcibly throughout the country. Although the endeavours of ANF are wholehearted and wide-ranging, the meagre strength / resources remain to be a challenge. Recent ongoing operations speak of devotion of Anti Narcotics Force in war against drugs and to make Pakistan a Drug Free Society.
