Srinagar, August 23, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, anti-India protest demonstrations, marked by pro-Pakistan and pro-Syed Ali Gilani slogans were held in Srinagar, today. The demonstrations were organized by the Tehreek-e-Hurriyet Jammu and Kashmir at Hyderpora Chowk in Srinagar, where slogans like “We Want Freedom” and “Pakistan Zindabad” were raised clashes. The protesters condemned the authorities for imposing ban on the holding of a convention by Tehreek-e-Hurriyet Jammu and Kashmir on its foundation day, today.
Meanwhile, dozens of Tehreek-e-Hurriyet activists were injured and many were arrested including party general secretary Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai when Indian police used brute force on their sit-in protest at Hyderpora. Police used teargas shelling and water cannons on the protesters. The veteran leader in a statement termed the use of force as the worst kind of Indian state terrorism. On the other hand, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred three youth in Handwara area of Kupwara district.
Indian army claimed that the youth were martyred in an encounter with troops. An Indian soldier was critically injured in Krumhura area of the district. Hurriyet leaders, Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Shabbir Ahmad Shah and Muhammad Yasin Malik in their statements and interviews deplored the cancellation of National Security Advisor-level talks between Pakistan and India. They said that India was not sincere in resolving the Kashmir dispute, peacefully.
The leaders vowed that they would continue their struggle for right to self-determination, irrespective of what India did. The leaders appreciated the Pakistan’s stance on Kashmir dispute. Other Hurriyet leaders including Aasiya Andrabi, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Zafar Akbar Butt, Farooq Ahmad Dar, Professor Nazir Ahmad Shawl, Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Freedom League and Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Movement in their statements also hailed the Pakistan’s stance on Kashmir.
