Anti-India protests held on Shab-e-Qadr in Srinagar

Srinagar, August 06 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, clashes between the youth and Indian armed forces took place during anti-India protest demonstrations in Srinagar on Shab-e-Qadr (Monday night).

Hundreds of youth staged pro-freedom and anti-India demonstrations at Nowhatta and Khanyar areas of the city on the night. Indian Police used brute force and resorted to baton charge on the protestors. “Youth raising “We want Freedom” slogans pelted stones on Nowhatta police station,’ said a witness.

Meanwhile, Shab-e-Qadr, also known as Laylat-ul-Qadr was observed all over Kashmir with great religious zeal and fervour. People offered nightlong prayers and recited from the Holy Quran in mosques and shrines all across the territory.
