Anti-Corruption Day Being Observed In Pakistan

Islamabad: International Anti-Corruption Day is being observed in Pakistan on 09th December to highlight the devastating impacts of corruption on the lives of millions of people around the world and to honour the quiet acts of courage of individuals who are building the foundations of change.

The United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) was first opened for signing at Merida, Mexico in 2003 on this day while the Government of Pakistan ratified the convention in August 2007.

To celebrate the Anti-Corruption Day, NAB will organize various activities including seminars, declamation contests, at NAB HQ as well as at the regional offices in the provinces. Special supplements will be published by the newspapers to mark the importance of the day.

Banners and posters with Anti-Corruption slogans to create awareness among the masses will be displayed at important places and buildings. Stickers with Anti-Corruption message will also be distributed among the public on this occasion.
