Ambassador Syed Abrar Hussain meets Afghan First Vice President

Kabul, April 10, 2014 (PPI-OT): Pakistan’s Ambassador to Afghanistan, Syed Abrar Hussain, called on the First Vice President of Afghanistan, Mohammad Younus Qanooni, in Kabul and conveyed to him a message of felicitations from the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, on his appointment.

Mr. Qanooni thanked Pakistan’s Prime Minister for his message of good wishes and for Pakistan’s support to Afghanistan. He also expressed desire to further strengthen bilateral relations between the two brotherly nations.

Ambassador Abrar Hussain congratulated the First Vice President on the successful conduct of recent Afghan elections and expressed the hope that it would pave the way for smooth democratic transition of power. Supporting the democratic process in Afghanistan, the Ambassador said that Pakistan would continue to work closely with the new Afghan leadership for the promotion of peace and stability in the region.
