Islamabad, April 09, 2014 (PPI-OT): H.E Emilian ION, Ambassador of Romania calls on Federal Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanvir Hussain here in his office in Rawalpindi today. The Minister is keenly exploring avenues of joint ventures with developed defence industries of the world.
Ambassador Romania said Pakistan and Romania have deep rooted ties of friendship which have been translated into commercial exploration and trade business and it is my utmost desire that we may excel in area of defence cooperation.
Ambassador Emilian ION added that Romanian Defence Industry is advanced and developed and has a lot of potential in the field of Heavy Tanks, Military Trucks, Armoured personnel carriers and communication equipment. He stressed that both Pakistan and Romania can explore these areas and venture into joint projects.
Pakistan also offered a wide variety of products and services in the field of defence production. Ambassador invited minister defence production to visit Romania and meet ministers for Economy, Agriculture and Industries to look into laws related to export and import to strengthen relations between two countries.
Minister for Defence Production stressed that on lines of a business council, Romania and Pakistan should look into possibility of making a forum where matters of joint collaboration and ventures can be explored on regular basis. Minister thanked the ambassador for having a proactive approach and wished him a successful tenure in Pakistan.
