Karachi, December 04, 2012 (PPI-OT): KMC Chief Officer Matanat Ali Khan has said that alternate residence to 50 families residing in Bhagwandas Building had been provided and people had started residing in it whereas the construction work of residential units for remaining 13 families was underway speedily where they would be shifted soon.
He said this during a visit of residential units for the residents of Bhagwandas Building. On this occasion Director Accommodation Abdul Hafeez and other officers were present. KMC had provided nearer residence to the residents of Bhagwandas Building on their demand and proper allotment orders had been issued to them.
He directed concerned officers to provide residential facilities for remaining families as soon as possible and enhance the speed of construction work. He said that all basic facilities including water, electricity, sewerage and guess had been provided to residents of residential units.
There were above 63 flats in Bhagwandas Building which were being shifted in residential units. Afterwards Chief Officer Matanat Ali Khan visited Zamzama Football Ground where a high standard football ground was being built. On this occasion Superintendent Engineer Tariq Ameen was also present.
Chief Officer directed concerned engineers to complete construction work as soon as possible after which leveling and other works should start. Rs20million were being spent in first phase. RCC structure was completed and pavilion had also been constructed whereas construction of shades in pavilion for audience would start soon.
In second phase leveling of land would be done and boundary wall would be made higher whereas gates would be made. Papers for approval of second phase were sent to concerned department and Rs20million were also being spent on second phase.
