Srinagar, July 28 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the puppet Minister of State for Home, Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo, has claimed that Indian police, army and paramilitary forces all are accountable to the puppet administration in the territory.
Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo in a media interview in Srinagar said that police, army and paramilitary forces in the territory were accountable before the government of India and the puppet administration.
Kichloo was referring to the indiscriminate firing by the troops of Indian Border Security Force on protestors that resulted in the killing of 4 persons and injuries to 42 others in Gool area of Ramban district on July 18.
He said that an impression was being created that while Kashmir police was accountable to the administration of the territory, army and paramilitary personnel were not. “It is a wrong impression and needs to be dispelled. In fact, they (troops and paramilitary forces) are more accountable than police,” he added.
However, the ground reality is that Indian police, troops and paramilitary personnel operate at their own in the territory. They enjoy unbridled powers under draconian laws and the puppet administration can not initiate criminal proceedings against them in serious human rights violations including killing, torturing of civilians and molestation of women.
