Srinagar, February 08, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Dukhtaran-e-Millat Chairperson, Aasiya Andrabi and patron-in-chief of Kashmir Concern in London, Professor Nazir Ahmed Shawl have paid glowing tributes to prominent Kashmiri martyrs, Muhammad Afzal Guru And Muhammad Maqbool Butt on their upcoming martyrdom anniversaries.
Aasiya Andrabi in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the best way to pay homage to the martyrs was to renew pledge to the freedom movement. “Let Us resolve that we won’t give up their mission till we attain freedom from India and foil every move of India and its stooges in Kashmir”, she said.
She expressed displeasure over the plight of political prisoners in jails. She said that due to absence of prosecution lawyers at the district sessions court the cases of the inmates are stagnant thus making the inmates suffer.
Professor Nazir Ahmed Shawl in his statement issued in Srinagar described the hangings of the sons of Kashmir as an example of the unethical, immoral and unjustified misconduct of India. He said that Kashmiris around the world paid tribute to the martyrs who laid down their lives for the freedom and right to self-determination.
Shawl reminded the world that the sons of the soil continued to remain interned even after their hanging in Tihar jail. It is a unanimous and just demand of the people of Kashmir to return their mortal remains for a respectful burial in Kashmir.
