Srinagar, March 19, 2013 (PPI-OT): Keeping in view the current situation of occupied Kashmir, the Australian government has issued a travel advisory to its citizens visiting Kashmir asking them not to travel several parts of the territory.
The fresh advisory of Australia advised its citizens to exercise a high degree of caution in the Ladakh region of occupied Kashmir and to reconsider their need to travel to the cities of Srinagar and Jammu. It asked them not to travel to other parts of the territory due to frequent curfews, armed clashes and demonstrations.
It is to mention here that last year, Britain had lifted its advisory against travelling to occupied Kashmir. However, in the backdrop of prevailing situation, the United Kingdom re-imposed the advisory by advising its citizens against travelling to Kashmir following imposition of curfew in the Valley after the hanging of Kashmiri youth, Muhammad Afzal Guru by India.
