Islamabad, January 29, 2013 (PPI-OT): Afghan Defence Minister, General Bismillah Khan Mohamadi, called on Defence Minister, Syed Naveed Qamar here at his office today. General Mohamadi along with a high-level five member delegation is on a visit to Pakistan. During his visit General Bismillah had meetings with the top military officials and discussed matters of bilateral importance between the two countries.
Minister for Defence, Syed Naveed Qamar said that Pakistan wants sustainable peace in Afghanistan and the region. We have fought a war on terror and we intend to see a peaceful Afghanistan. We have to work towards improving security at Pakistan-Afghanistan border in a collective manner, the minister said. He added that Pakistan fully supports Afghan-led peace process.
Both Ministers agreed that peaceful Afghanistan is in best interest of the two countries and the region. Afghan Defence Minister said we consider Pakistan a brotherly state. He also appreciated Pakistan’s support and efforts in the war on terror. He said that Afghanistan fully acknowledges Pakistan’s role in the fight against terrorism and the sacrifices made in this regard.
The Defence Minister thanked the Afghan Defence Minister with a hope that peace process will flourish between the two countries.
