Karachi, August 26, 2016 (PPI-OT): Advisor to Chief Minister Sindh for Labour and HR Senator Saeed Ghani paid surprise visit of Social Security Hospital Landhi Industrial area, CMO City Circle office and Valika hospital here on Friday Morning. He checked the attendance of doctors, paramedical staff and inspected the OPD, Medical ward, Operation Theater, ICU and Emergency Wards of these hospitals and listened to the complaints of the patients and directed the Hospital administrations to resolve the problems faced by patients on urgent basis. Coordinator to Advisor Labour Mr. Muhammad Khan Abro, Director Procurement Akram Shaikh, Director Engineering Mr Azhar Zahir and CMO City Circle Dr. Saeed Zafar were also present on this occasion.
Provincial advisor expressed his dissatisfaction over the lack of Cleanliness and delay in the development schemes of construction of consultant rooms in CMO City Circle office, Extension work of Landhi Hospital and repair of residential flats of doctors and paramedical staff in Valika Hospital.
Mr Ghani said that Landhi Industrial area was one of the important industrial areas of the Country where thousands of workers are engaged in industrial labour adding that it was prime responsibility of the Labour department to provide them maximum possible high quality treatment for which each and every ward specially emergency wards be properly maintained and all medicines be made available in the hospital, he said.
Mr Ghani added that purpose of his visits was to improve the condition of institutions of Labour department with special focus to bring improvements in service delivery of hospitals and overall performance of Labour department. He said that measures are being taken to address the shortage of doctors and paramedical staff besides other facilities will also be provided to hospitals for betterment of workers. He directed for timely completion of various uplift, maintenance and repair schemes being carried out under labour department.
Provincial Advisor for Labour further said that 60 percent of industries are in Sindh Province specially in Karachi where thousands of workers were working, it is mandatory for us to provide high quality medical services to workers besides making suitable arrangements for better health and education facilities to the children of working class.
