Karachi, December 17, 2012 (PPI-OT): KMC Administrator Muhammad Hussain Syed has directed that the construction work of Jinnah Terminal Flyover costing Rs289million on Shahrah-e- Faisal should be carried out speedily so that this would complete in next month.
He said this during a visit of construction work of Jinnah Terminal Flyover on Monday where he was accompanied by Director General Technical Services Altaf G. Memon, Sr. Director Transport and Communication Muhammad Ather, Project Director Ansar Zaidi and other officials. Administrator Karachi said the construction of this flyover on Shahrah-e- Faisal would facilitate traffic going towards Airport and National Highway. This flyover having three lanes would complete in given time and construction work was underway speedily.
Administrator Karachi said Shahrah-e- Faisal was an important and busy corridor and there was traffic pressure due to international airport. He said that flyovers at Malir-15 and Kala board would also be built to make Shahrah-e- Faisal signal free for which Rs24million were assigned in budget and construction of these flyovers would provide better traveling facilities to residents of Port Qasim, Steel Mill, Malir and other adjacent areas.
He directed project director to ensure his presence at construction side and high standard of work as well. He said that he would keep on paying visits to Jinnah Flyover including other projects gradually so that he could inspect the speed of work and standard of material.
On this occasion Director General Technical Services Altaf G. Memon gave a briefing and informed that high standard in construction was being considered. Administrator Karachi said that construction work of four flyovers on Sharah-e- Faisal was underway at the same time and we were trying to reduce the difficulties faced by the citizens.
He said that four flyovers on Shahrah-e- Faisal would be completed by the end of March of next year whereas construction work of Mehran Hotel underpass and Shaheen Complex Flyover was being started.
