Karachi: Administrator KMC Muhammad Hussain Syed has directed to complete the construction work of Korangi Causeway and Korangi Crossing Intersection within scheduled time so that problems due to accidents and traffic jam on Causeway could be overcome. He was inspecting work on various under construction roads in Korangi and Landhi area along with the Director General Technical Services Altaf G. Memon, Senior Director Transport and Communication Ateeq Baig, Chief Engineer East Mehmood Hussain Baloch and other high officials. Administrator Muhammad Hussain Syed said that work of making Korangi Causeway two tracks and its construction and improvement would complete in next month with a cost of Rs8.7million.
In a briefing on this occasion, he was informed that Korangi Causeway was an important road and it would be made 18 feet wide. Administrator KMC said that this dangerous road had not received any attention in past despite of lot of accidents that happened every month.
He said reflectors will be fixed on the middle wall for convenience of traffic. During the visit of Korangi Crossing Intersection he said that new designing and improvement of it would cost Rs20million. Korangi Crossing will be made signal free to ensure smooth flow of traffic. Street and flood lights will also be installed on Korangi Causeway and Korangi Crossing Intersection and this work will be completed in the current financial year.
Administrator Muhammad Hussain Syed also paid detailed visit to Korangi 15 thousand and 6 thousand roads where he reviewed the ongoing carpeting work being done by KMC with a cost of Rs100million.
