Administrator Karachi visit Landhi-Korangi projects

Karachi, November 20, 2012 (PPI-OT): KMC Administrator Muhammad Hussain Syed said transport and water drainage problems in Landhi and Korangi would solve to a great extent with the completion of ongoing infrastructure development projects in this area whereas the residents would get even better medical, sports and recreation facilities.

He said this on a visit of development works being carried out in various areas of Landhi and Korangi along with the D.G Technical Services Altaf G. Memon, Sr. Director T and C Muhammad Ather, Project Directors and other concerned officers.

While visiting Korangi Causeway and Korangi Crossing, Administrator Karachi instructed the officials to further speed up work on these projects so that these could be opened for traffic as soon as possible and the people of the area could avail the opportunity to travel on modern and widened road in their access to central areas of the city.

He also directed to complete the construction work of CBM drain by December. He said that the redesigning of Korangi Crossing and removal of signals on this road would make this important junction better for traffic flow while minimizing the traffic related accidents. The construction of Korangi Causeway with a cost of Rs148million would provide a solution to the closure of this road during rains in city.

He said the construction of CBM Bridge in Ibrahim Hyderi was another such step towards solving the traffic congestion problems in the area where new colleges, universities and industrial units were established.

Afterwards while visiting Landhi Sports Complex; Administrator Muhammad Hussain Syed the complex had entered into the completion stage which would provide better sports opportunities to youth residing in surrounding areas.

The complex would have the facility for holding various sports disciplines including swimming, tennis, badminton, shooting range and indoor games like carom, billiards and table tennis with the free of cost coaching.

Administrator Karachi said the restored and upgraded Landhi and Korangi Zoo was also providing good recreation facility to people of the area. The induction of new captives had attracted more visitors to the zoo facility.

He said the residents of Landhi, Korangi and adjacent areas were getting better medical and health care facilities with the completion of Landhi Medical Complex which was equipped with latest equipments and ambulances and serving the patients on round the clock basis. Administrator Karachi said the 14000 Road was completed and works on 15000 Road underway and would complete soon.

He said we were trying to develop all city areas on uniform basis so that the people living in any area could avail benefits from it.
