Karachi, January 13, 2013 (PPI-OT): A 2 day Reptiles Exhibition was opened by KMC Administrator Muhammad Hussain Syed on Saturday at Karachi Zoo. Senior Director Recreation and Sports Rehan Khan and other officers were also present on this occasion.
A good number of people including kids and women showed great interest in the exhibition. While talking to media representatives Administrator Karachi said first time such an exhibition has been held in Karachi which was aimed at providing awareness to citizens about the different species of reptiles and snakes.
He said the people especially young students would know about the various species of reptiles and their characteristics, adding that, these reptiles were other than those already kept in the Karachi Zoo. The visitors in the zoo would also have the opportunity to see these unique creatures also besides getting knowledge about the wild life.
Administrator Karachi said soon rare species of fishes will also be put on display to give maximum opportunity to people to see them. Replying to a query, Administrator Karachi said a committee comprising of senior doctors was setup to ascertain the reasons of death of four deer in Karachi Zoo.
Laboratory test were also been arranged in this connection. Disciplinary action will be taken after receiving its report. He said strict measures were being taken in the zoo to protect other captives from such things. Administrator Karachi said more new animals will soon be inducted to Karachi Zoo to provide more and more recreation opportunity to citizens of Karachi.
