Administrator Karachi attends North Karachi Association of Trade and Industry’s meeting

Karachi, April 02, 2014 (PPI-OT): Administrator Karachi Rauf Akhtar Farooqui has said that the lack of inter-departmental coordination was the reason for overnight cutting of roads which caused heavy loss to infrastructure. This situation could be changed with the implementation of development activities under master plan and by ensuring full and thorough coordination among the concerned organizations. Shafiq Morr road was being widened and a flyover will also be constructed at this junction.

He expressed these views while speaking in the meeting held in the office of North Karachi Association of Trade and Industry which was attended by Chairman of NKATI Mehmood Rangoonwala, Patron In Chief Noor Ahmed Khan, Chief Executive Syed Usman, Chairman of North Karachi Industrial Area Development and Management Committee Ashraf Jamil, Director General Engineering KMC Niaz Ahmed Soomro, Chief Engineer Asadullah Shah, Chief Engineer Khalid Masroor and other officers.

Administrator Karachi also announced to link the disaster management section of KMC with the North Karachi Association of Trade and Industry which he said would ensure immediate rescue and other such works in the industrial zone. He said industrial areas were considered backbone of the local economy as these not only give foreign exchange to the country but also provide employment to a lot of people.

Administrator Rauf Akhtar Farooqui said development process in Karachi was continuing and the industrial zones of the city will also get infrastructure development projects. He said despite of having limited resources we will continue the journey of development in all areas of the city with the coordination of concerned organizations.

The Chairman of NKATI Mehmood Rangoonwala thanked the Administrator Karachi for attending the meeting and said that the North Karachi Industrial Zone contain about 22 hundred small and medium level cottage industries which provide employment to nearly three thousand people. He said the internal road network of the area was being improved and the solid waste collection was done by the association itself.

The meeting was also addressed by the chief executive NKATI Syed Usman, Patron In Chief Noor Ahmed Khan and Chairman CDC Ashraf jamil. In the end the NKATI Chairman presented a shield to Administrator Karachi.
