Administrator addresses review meeting on flyovers project on Shahra-e-Pakistan

Karachi, January 01, 2013 (PPI-OT): KMC Administrator Muhammad Hussain Syed has said that Corridor-V as a gift will be given to citizens of Karachi in 2013 which will not only improve traffic flow of Shahra-e-Pakistan, S.M Taufeeq Road and Jahangir Road but also save precious time and fuel of citizens.

This is an important and busy corridor of the city which has been named as Corridor-V whereas traffic jam and other problems on this corridor were being faced by citizens in past considering which it was decided to build four flyovers after removing intersections on this corridor which will be completed in next year.

He said this while addressing a review meeting held on inspecting project of flyovers on Shahra-e-Pakistan on Monday. On this occasion Director General Technical Services Altaf G. Memon, Project Director, Concerned Engineers and other officials were present. Administrator Karachi directed concerned officers and engineers regarding speed of construction work on four flyovers.

He said that Governor of Sindh was himself monitoring project of flyovers on Shahra-e-Pakistan therefore any negligence in this connection will not be tolerated and complete all construction works according to schedule along with considering high quality material since these projects were started in favor of citizens.

Administrator Karachi directed to continue construction works of four flyovers on Shahra-e-Pakistan round the clock and implement the traffic diversion plan strictly. He also directed to remove the hurdles in traffic flow during construction works.

Administrator Karachi said that Shahra-e-Pakistan was an important corridor of the city due to business activities and populated areas on both sides therefore it was in favor of citizens to complete development projects as soon as possible whereas completion of these projects would reduce environmental pollution as well.

He also directed to make arrangements of planting more trees and greenery on Shahra-e-Pakistan, S.M. Taufeeq Road and Jahangir Road so that this corridor could be made beautiful and attractive and could be given to citizens as a gift in New Year.
