Khartoum Sudanese Minister of Irrigation Mutaz Musa announced on Sunday that a new round of negotiations will begin on May 5 in Addis Ababa, to discuss the issue of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) on the Blue Nile River.
Musa made the announcement during a meeting with Sudanese Prime Minister Bakri Hassan Saleh, Sudan News Agency (SUNA) reported.
The Sudanese official said the meeting on May 5 would be attended by irrigation ministers from Sudan, Ethiopia and Egypt � the three countries most affected by the dam. He added that another meeting will be held in the Ethiopian capital in mid-May with the participation of foreign affairs and irrigation ministers as well as intelligence managers in the three nations.
Musa stated that the meeting with the prime minister dealt with the talks on the said dam, pointing out that this file is moving forward thanks to cooperation between the three countries
