Karachi: Asian Development Bank (ADB) is likely to approve the 3rd tranche of USD 243.35mn by next month, which would be provided to the National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC) for the development of MFF-Power Transmission and Distribution enhancement T3 sub project.
According to Alfalah Securities Limited, NTDC would be responsible for increasing the transmission capacity and quality of power supply through system expansion while, the electricity generated by the new power plants would be transmitted to the load centers in Sindh and Punjab. Moreover, power transmission systems augmented and expanded system bottlenecks would also be removed.
The 3rd tranche would be utilized to develop additional 500kV transmission lines and grid substation facilities at Moro, therefore resulting in an improvement of the transmission infrastructure. The 3rd tranche of ADB would boost the efficiency of the overall power transmission system while ensuring a smooth power supply to a large number of industrial, commercial and residential consumers in Sindh and Punjab.
