Rawalpindi, May 11, 2015 (PPI-OT): A delegation of Yugoimport of Serbia called on Federal Minister for Defence Production the other day. There was a comprehensive exchange of views on the scope of mutual collaboration in the area of defence and prospects of joint ventures in the defence production sector.
The Serbian delegation showed interest in importing military uniforms, accessories and telecommunication equipment from Pakistan. Moreover the delegation assured the Minister for Defence Production of technical assistance to Pakistan in order to enhance its rocket system and also proposed enhancements for M17 helicopter which included automatic firing machine guns (12.7mm), semi-automatic guidance system, cameras, laser range finder, 128mm rockets and high explosive anti-tank ammunition. Literature, in this regard was also provided by the members of the delegation to the Minister.
The Minister for Defence Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain said that both the countries have a lot of potential and cooperation stressed upon collaboration in defence production on concrete terms in future. He further said that Pakistan’s Defence Production is cost efficient and its JF-17 Thunder fighter plane and Mushshak trainer aircrafts are being of exported to Iraq, Turkey and other countries. The delegation also extended invitation to the Minister for Defence Production of Pakistan for the Partner (Int’l Defence Exhibition) to take place in Belgrade, Serbia from 23rd to 26th June, 2015.
