A day with differently-abled children; Murad Ali Shah calls for equal opportunities for differently-abled persons

Karachi, March 13, 2021 (PPI-OT): Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that the community depends on the institutes that integrate education (taleem) with teaching and training (tarbiyat) so that society accepts people with challenges and gives them equal opportunities of living and earning amongst them. This he said while addressing the inaugural ceremony of Karachi Vocational Training Centre (KVTC) – Jiddat outlet established at DHA Phase-IV Karachi by Senator Abdul Haseeb. He said that this was a big milestone in the journey of not only KVTC, but also all the differently abled people of Sindh as well as of Pakistan.

Mr Shah said that the KVTC has been playing a pivotal role in the training and holistic development of the special people of our society, being the only institute aligning with international standards. He added that it [KVTC] was the only place where these special people are trained to procure and hold a sustainable decent living. The CM said that where once these children were considered a burden, KVTC was making them eligible for supporting them and their families. “This is a gigantic task and the KVTC and its team deserves appreciation and our support,” he said.

“I commend the dedicated efforts of the entire KVTC management, teachers, especially Senator Abdul Haseeb Khan, whose vision has taken this institute to successful heights,” Mr Shah appreciated. Murad Ali Shah said that the Sindh government hereby stands with KVTC to realize their Vision 2030 of enabling at least 5,000 differently abled all over Sindh. The chief minister said that the community depended on such institutes that integrate ‘taleem’ with the ‘tarbiyat’ so that society accepted people with challenges and give them equal opportunities of living and earning amongst them.

In the end, he pledged to support KVTC at all levels and be a voice for differently abled persons. Earlier, the chief minister cut the ribbon to inaugurate the KVTC outlet established at DHA Phase-IV. The chief minister visited different workshops of the outlet where the differently-abled persons were designing the clothes and preparing dresses with new designs.
