A 100-bedded hospital will be established in Qasimabad in the name of Begum Nusrat Bhutto: Qaim Ali Shah

Karachi, December 11, 2012 (PPI-OT): Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah today presided a high level meeting of Planning and Development and Finance departments held at CM House. The meeting was attended by Sindh Finance Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Sindh Information Minister Mr. Sharjeel Enam Memon, Additional Chief Secretary (Finance) Mr. Arif Ahmed Khan, Principal Secretary to CM Mr. Muhammad Siddique Memon, Special Secretary (P and D), Dr. Noorul Haq, Special Secretary Finance and other officers.

The meeting reviewed in detail the progress on various development schemes being executed in the province of Sindh with allocations of the year in budget, releases and expenditure so far-made.

It was decided that the provincial government will construct a 100 bedded latest hospital with all latest facilities and the hospital will be named in the name of mother of democracy Begum Nusrat Bhutto. The stone laying ceremony will be held early.

It was also decided to complete Trauma Centre Karachi early and the same will be inaugurated soon. Chief Minister Sindh also directed to complete trauma centres of Hyderabad, Badin and others so that the same are opened for the health facility of poor and needy patients.

Chief Minister Sindh also formed a 3 – member committee comprising of Secretary Health, Special Secretary (P and D) and Principal Secretary to CM, which will look into the matter and will suggest ways and means to make all trauma centres and Taluka hospitals and Basic health Units functional.

Chief Minister Sindh further directed to strengthened the Sukkur Hospital, while the process of upgradation of hospitals in new districts of Tando Allahyar, Tando Muhammad Khan, Matiari etc be upgraded and completed early.

It was decided to implement bio-metric system in all secretariat office, so as to have vigilance and monitoring on attendance and performance of government employees. Chief Minister Sindh informed that besides, provision of Government jobs, about 3,60,000 youth have been imparted training in various fields, out of which about 30,000 to 40,000 youth have obtained jobs as per their training fields. He added that the government is providing 4000 bikes to needy and poor youth.

The meeting was informed that during last 4 and half years of present provincial government, an amount of Rs: 500 billion have been spent and so many schemes have been completed while others are nearer for completion. It was informed that Sindh government has established 14- Universities in the province during last 4 ½ years aimed at to provide education to young people of the province.

It was informed that there 30 schemes in health department to be completed soon while 11,00 Km roads will be constructed before February 2013. It was informed that 2- Girls cadet colleges are being established in the province while for development and provision of infrastructure for Thar Coal field has been initiated.

It was informed that supply of water from Nabisar to LBOD is in hand, construction of road from Karachi to Thar Coal field has been started while road from Islamkot to Thar coal field will be started soon. It was informed that an amount of Rs: 5 Billion will be spent on water supply schemes and 176 km road from Karachi to Thar coal via Thatta and Badin at the cost of Rs: 3 Billion is in hand.

Chief Minister Sindh also directed that a team should visit the road from Mongo to Mithi about its and submit it report within a week time. He also directed to obtain schemes from those MPA’s who have yet not submitted so as to initiate and complete the same soon.
