Islamabad: Koral police Islamabad on Friday arrested 82 suspects including Afghan nationals and those hailing from tribal areas as the nabbed persons could not produce any document for their identity, a police spokesman said.
Koral police conducted search operation in various areas of its jurisdiction in which they screened houses, workshops, markets, under construction buildings and residential areas.
Following the directions of IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan and SSP Islamabad Muhammad Yousuf Malik, search operation had been initiated and the police are conducting checking at slum areas, inns, hotels and restaurants and Afghan habitats also. These measures are being taken to ensure foolproof security on the eve of Muharram ul Haram and keep vigilant eye on the suspected elements.
On Friday, various teams of Koral police under the supervision of SP (Rural) Faisal Bashir Memon conducted thorough combing and search in various areas. These teams headed by DSP Ahmed Iqbal and SHO Koral Inspector Sajjad Hussain Bukhari screened houses, under construction building and other places in Bilal Town, Khana Dak, Soodra, Sharif Abad, Tarlai, Jang Syedan, Taramri, Service road, Ghori town, PWD Colony, National Police Foundation Colony.
Police commandos including lady Commandos, women police also participated in operation while sniffer dogs were also used in some areas. This search operations would continue in coming days and complete combing would be made of sensitive areas, the spokesman maintained.
SSP Islamabad Muhammad Yousuf Malik has directed all police officials to intensify efforts against anti social elements and also nab the suspected elements.
