69 bottles beer and 48 bottle whisky recovered, two accused arrested

Karachi, November 08, 2016 (PPI-OT): While obeying the orders of Sindh High Court, the Minister for Excise and Taxation Sindh Mukesh Kumar Chawla has directed to ensure complete ban on sale and purchase of liquor. And due to strict measures taken by E and T department, a team under supervision of ETO Malir Kalimullah Wasan and Inspector Abdul Malik Baloch during snap checking stopped a jeep no GS 4979 at Northern By pass road and during search 60 bottles OF BEER and 48 bottles of WHISKY were recovered and the vehicle was impounded as well. While two accused SIDDIQUE and SUBASH were arrested.

They were bringing WHISKY and BEER from Hub. A case has been registered against accused. Further investigations are under way. Meanwhile the Minister for E and T and Narcotics Control Mukesh Kumar Chawla has directed the officers to increase snap checking and ensure complete ban on sale and purchase of liquor and all possible efforts should be taken to crush sale of illicit liquor. He also warned them if they did not deliver their duties honestly, the departmental action would taken against them.
