Islamabad: To celebrate the 65th Independence Anniversary of Pakistan, a flag hoisting ceremony was held at the Chancery with pomp and grandeur. The ceremony commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, which was attended by a sizeable number of Pakistanis and the officers and staff of the Embassy living in Seoul, says a press release received here today from South Korea.
Messages from the President and Prime Minister were read on the occasion and the sacrifices rendered by the Shuhadas of the freedom movement under the dynamic leadership of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal were underlined. The achievements of the government in the nation building, strengthening of democratic institutions, the NFC award and the 18 and 19th amendments, were also highlighted.
The Pakistan Business Association has organized a large reception in the evening at Incheon city, where Pakistanis residing in Seoul and Incheon (One and half hours) drive from Seoul will attend.
Korean nationals and the members of the prominent media are also expected to participate. The Ambassador will be the chief guest on the occasion.
