Srinagar, January 09, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, 32 people, 10 of them women including the aged mother of prominent Kashmiri martyred liberation leader, Muhammad Maqbool Butt and his three sisters have courted arrest during the third phase of the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Court Arrest Movement.
These people led by senior JKLF leader, Master Muhammad Afzal courted arrest at Sarai Bal Dastgeer Sahib in Srinagar, today. The objective of Court Arrest Campaign is to seek the revoking of life imprisonment awarded to the Kashmiri youth.
Most of the arrested were hailing from Baramulla and Kupwara districts. The detainees who included Professor Javed, JKLF Baramullah President Abdur Rashid Malgu, Kupwara President Muhammad Siddiq Guru and others were later shifted to Sher Garhi Police Station in Srinagar.
Over 100 leaders and activists of JKLF including party Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Bashir Ahmad Butt and Showkat Ahmed Bakhshi have courted arrest since January 4, when the first phase of the Court Arrest Movement was launched.
